This was my 1st official train set 1973

I was always interested in trains. We always seemed to live near the railroad tracks when I grew up in La Salle. I lived in La Salle from my birth (1963) to 1972 and then we moved to Mendota until 1981. There I lived right next to the ICRR mainline. It was great!
In 1981 I moved out West to Las Vegas Nevada with the family. Stayed there until 1997 and then moved back to Mendota. I moved back to La Salle in 2004. I have literally come full circle.
I am glad I played a part in the Mendota Museum and the Cherry IL Museum/Library.
I seem to have an insatiable desire for history, especially the railroading aspect.
I have no idea why I have such a deep desire for historical preservation. I know I do like to share and what I find out about history in our area I find ways to make that information available to others so they can get that same excitement about learning about our past.
