I fell in love with the guitar when I was ten and I continue to have a great passion for
the music created on guitars. When I was 16, my own guitar teacher told me that i should teach in my community of Mendota
IL. I did, and I had about 12 students, not bad for a teenage kid. When I moved to Las Vegas I played in bands, went
to college for music and taught guitar at a music school/store. After 13 yrs in the desert I moved back to the heartland
to be involved with another passion (trains and model ralroad construction) at the Union Depot Railroad Museum in Mendota.
After years of teaching guitar I had realized more than ever the void in guitar instruction methods. I wanted
to write a guitar teaching course in which i could find everything I basically needed under one cover. GUITAR JOURNEY
is a result of that!
I also have been interested in history and railroading and have made a couple documentaries and Video DVDs about Railroads
and Coal Mining. See my Cherry Coal MIne Disaster website too. I am currently building upon a website on local history
called Ray's LaSalle County Online Museum.
Photography has become another passion of mine and
I like to travel to many places to photograph landscapes, people, places and things.
